OGF COMMENDS GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE ON OYO-ISEYIN ROAD CONTRACT.

Oyo Global Forum wishes to commend the Oyo State Government on the award of the contract for the reconstruction of Oyo-Iseyin road.

According to the statement issued by Mr. Taiwo Adisa; the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, the 34.85km Oyo-Iseyin road was awarded to Kopek Construction Limited at the rate of N8.4bn and it is expected to be completed in 12 months.

As a forum, we see this as a welcome development and we are delighted the state government rose up to the yearnings of the people of Oyo by awardingthe contract for the reconstruction of the road. The governor, had during the commissioning of the new ultra modern Akesan market in Oyo few weeks ago, promised that the contract for the reconstruction of the road would soon be awarded.
We appreciate the state governor; Engr. Seyi Makinde for being a man of his words and a visionary leader who acknowledged the strategic importance of Oyo-Iseyin road in the economic expansion plans of the state. We have no doubt that the project when completed will bring a new lease of life to users of the road and boost socio-economic activities between Oyo and Oke Ogun areas of the state.

While thanking the governor for this laudable feat, as well as other projects across Oyo Federal Constituency such as construction of Gedu-Oroki-Sabo road, and light up Oyo project, we would also like to implore him to compel the contractor handling the Silo project at Aawe to expedite work on the Silo. Also worthy of mention is the proposed Atiba FM, we appeal to the governor to bring this project to fruition as it will among other things help in promoting government’s activities in Oyo and other parts of the state.

As a community organisation who is committed to the growth and prosperity of Oyo and its environs, we shall continue to support the government in its developmental agenda.
